From Boston With Love: Resiliency

By Eileen McDargh - Thursday, April 18, 2013

My twin brother (to the left with my sister Susan and myself) is Professor John McDargh, Boston College. Normally on the day of the marathon, he is perched on the sidelines close to Boston College and Heartbreak Hill. This Monday he was driving back from the Cape, to my great relief. But in 1980, he wrote an op-ed piece on the Marathon for the Boston Globe. I have the article as a poster mounted on my office wall. Its words ring with solidarity and meaning even 33 years later.
